Mark Logan MP for Bolton North East is encouraging eligible residents in Bolton to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) before the fast approaching deadline on 30 June 2021.
The EU Settlement Scheme allows individuals and families to get the immigration status they need to continue to live, work and study in the UK, post Brexit.
The status means EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can continue to be eligible for public services, such as healthcare and schools, public funds and pensions and British citizenship, if requirements are met.
Commenting Mark Logan MP said:
“It is a priority to protect the rights of EU citizens living in the UK, which is now more relevant than ever as we approach the deadline.
If you know anyone who should apply in Bolton then spread the message to help us safeguard their rights.”
The UK Government has been clear that the contributions from EU, EEA and Swiss citizens are highly valued and help to make up the social, economic and cultural fabric of the UK.
Over 5 million grants of pre-settled or settled status have been issued so far and the Home Office has a dedicated team of more than 1,500 people working alongside a UK-wide network of 72 charities and local authorities dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable and hard-to-reach applicants.
Up to £22 million has been made available to the grant funded network which will continue to support applicants until the end of September 2021. To find organisations that offer support in your constituency or to make an application please click here: www.gov.uk/help-eu-settlement-scheme.
