Pupils across Bolton have benefited from 4,041 laptops and tablets to date, as the Conservative Government hits an important milestone in its rollout of devices to support disadvantaged young people.
More than 1 million laptops and tablets have now been delivered to schools and local authorities across England, as part of a £400 million investment that will support schools and young people for years to come.
Commenting, Mark Logan MP said:
“No child should miss out as a result of the disruption caused by this pandemic. That is why it has been our priority to equip those children most in need with the resources they need to succeed.
The 4,041 devices Bolton has received will ensure no child’s education is hindered, regardless of their background or circumstance.
Whilst we all want our children back in the classroom as soon as possible, we are doing everything we can to support the high-quality education they deserve as they learn at home.”
The MP for Bolton North East has made great strides to support children learning remotely during lockdown. In November, Mark Logan launched a UK first tutoring scheme – Tutor the Nation – in Bolton.
The scheme partners sixth form students with Oxford University undergraduates to deliver high-quality tutoring services, helping Boltonian students to catch up on important lesson time missed due to the pandemic.
