Bollards have been erected outside a residents’ house in Breightmet who has had FIVE cars crash into her front garden.
Tetbury Drive is part of a quiet residential cul-de-sac in Breightmet, however, resident Joanne Angus, has had multiple cars crash onto her property along the 20mph road.
Mark Logan MP has been working alongside Bolton Council and Breightmet Councillors to install traffic calming measures to prevent further damage.
On Friday he visited the address with Cllr Adele Warren to see the newly installed bollards and sign-post - which was destroyed in the most recent collision.
Commenting Mark Logan MP said:
“I am working hard to ensure we crackdown on speeding in Bolton to reduce these dangerous road incidents.
Whilst more will be done to tackle the root of the problem. This one small change will make a big difference to the wellbeing of the residents of Tetbury Drive.
The bollards can help reduce the anxiety that residents have been feeling in their own homes and indeed the number of road traffic incidents there have been here over the last few years.
A special thanks to everyone who has been involved in making it happen.”
Commenting resident Joanne Angus said:
“After five collisions, I’m very grateful to Mark and Adele, I feel a lot more protected and secure in my own property.”
Commenting Cllr Adele Warren said:
“After numerous meetings with both Joanne and highways officers I am really pleased that with the support of other ward councillors in Breightmet we were able to support through the local area forum budget to support Joanne and hopefully this long standing issue.”
