A Bolton business, Booth Industries, has secured a £36 million contract to supply high–pressure safety doors for HS2’s tunnels. Now, Mark Logan MP wants to see more innovative Bolton businesses benefit from Phase One of HS2, connecting London to the West Midlands.
The building of Phase One of HS2 alone will create 400,000 contract opportunities for businesses of all sizes and sectors right across the country and already 2,000 businesses have won work on the scheme.
The MP has called for businesses, particularly those affected by the economic downturn, to register their interest for the thousands of opportunities.
Commenting Mark Logan MP said:
“I know many businesses have been affected by the economic downturn, so it’s incredibly important to get involved in projects like this. The opportunities that will flow from this national investment will be immense, and businesses in Bolton North East should reap the benefits.
Contracts of various sizes will soon be awarded for businesses in different industries and I’d encourage all eligible Boltonians to apply.”
The starting point for all businesses should be visiting hs2.org.uk/building-hs2/supply-chain/ to find out more about what opportunities will be available and how to start the process of bidding and winning work.
